GnRH receptor antagonist and hormone combination therapy
ORIAHNN is a combination medication containing elagolix, estradiol, and norethinadrone acetate. It is used to manage heavy menstrual bleeding caused by uterine fibroids (leiomyomas) in women who have not yet reached menopause. Because the medication can lead to bone density loss, it is generally recommended for use for no more than 24 months.
How it worksORIAHNN works by blocking a hormone called GnRH. This lowers the levels of other hormones that cause heavy bleeding, while the included estrogen and progestin help manage side effects like bone loss.
Brand names:Oriahnn
How to take
Take one morning capsule (containing elaogolix, estradiol, and norethinadrone acetate) and one evening capsule (containing only elaogolix) every day at approximately the same time.
You can take these capsules with or without food. If you miss a dose, take it within 4 hours; otherwise, skip it and take the next dose at your regular time.
Missed dose: If you miss a dose, take it within 4 hours. If more than 4 hours have passed, skip it and take your next dose at the regular time.
